Global Spotlight Feature: Nigeria

Hey Queens, so for our weekly Global Spotlight Feature this week, we’ll be discussing Nigeria. This West African nation is sometimes called the “Giant of Africa” because of its large population. Currently Nigeria has been on the rise in the booming African beauty industry. Artists have the ability to make a full-time income via clients ranging from brides, Nollywood movie sets and Afrobeat music videos. With unemployment remaining a huge problem in Nigeria, this industry expands the economy tremendously because of the surge of young people pursuing careers in the beauty industry. As a result of this, many international companies like MAC and Maybelline are coming to Nigeria. A few Nigerian based companies include House of Tara, Zaron, BM Pro, Lise Beauty Range, and Kuddy Cosmetics, and R&R Luxury specializing in skincare.
